Work (Conceptual from Classes/Coursework)

Crisis Management Plan (concept)
This was a project for my Strategic Communication class where I was required to create a crisis management plan for a company of my choice. I chose Sanrio because I thought it would be interesting to research what kind of unique issues the beloved company have and could face as well as come up with solutions that align to their business model and vision.

hypothetical blog post
As part of the same assignment, I also created a hypothetical company blog post for Sanrio revolving around tips for keeping an organized workspace.

Magazine Spread: Wined & Dined
For my Media Design course, I created a hypothetical full 8-page magazine spread including a cover photo, table of contents, masthead, photospread, article, and full-page ad section. This project allowed me to learn the fundamentals of design, such as balance, contrast, white space, and alignment. I was able to use these principles to appeal to our target audience, millennials who love to unwind and learn about the diverse cuisine that the LA area has to offer. This also gave me experience with various media design tools such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

"JAWS" movie poster recreation
For the same class, I also recreated the classic "JAWS" movie poster using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. This assignment, once again, allowed me to play around with the fundamentals of design as well as discover how fonts and colors affect the emotions of the viewer.

AI: Advancing the academic and Professional landscapes or inhibiting student success? (journalism project)
This two-part project was completed for my Multimedia Storytelling class. For the first part, I used Final Cut Pro to create a short video discussing the impact of AI on academic institutions and career readiness. I can't include the video here as it includes students who didn't give permission to have the video published online. For the second part, I wrote a hard news story to supplement the video that exercised my understanding of journalistic standards of writing while adhering to the AP style which I included here.

Service Learning Project for the boys & girls club of oceanside
In 2021, I created learning materials for children aged six and older at the Boys and Girls Club of Oceanside. The content revolved around the importance of teaching young children about anti-bullying. The booklet consisted of informational pages as well as interactive pages for the kids to complete after the verbal lecture portion of the lesson to heighten their interest and attention.

Published Piece with DIG Mag
In October 2024, I pitched a story to the editor-in-chief of DIG Mag, a student-produced arts and culture magazine published by CSULB's Department of Journalism and Public Relations. I then wrote the piece, leading to its publication on DIG's website after consultation with the editorial team. This process taught me what it's like to write a piece on a deadline and work with editors to ensure the most important information stays in the article after cutting it down.
